Championing Inclusive Financial Support Programs

Employee Spotlight: Erin Doordan, ServiceSource Delaware

ServiceSource is proud to recognize Erin Doordan, a benefits counselor who spearheads our FinanceABILITY program in Delaware. FinanceABILITY fosters economic empowerment among individuals with disabilities through personalized finance and benefits counseling.

Working with the state’s Stand by Me program, Erin not only assists clients in the program, she educates other counselors about challenges like the Supplemental Security Income savings limit.

“Many coaches inadvertently risk a client’s benefits by advising them to save money,” explains Erin. “My goal when supporting clients with disabilities is to help them earn enough money to achieve financial independence without jeopardizing their access to benefits or provoking unjustified overpayments. It’s a tricky balance, but educating people on these nuances is the first step to ensuring more people can get help.”

In August, Erin will be a guest on the Stand by Me podcast, “Health and Money: The Impact of Finances on our Health,” to educate listeners about the specialized knowledge required to facilitate inclusive financial empowerment. Thank you, Erin, for your continued dedication to excellent service delivery. We appreciate your support of the ServiceSource mission and are lucky to have you on our team.
