Caleb Sears joined PARC, ServiceSource Utah affiliate’s Career Exploration Services program in February 2021. Through this program, PARC provides students with disabilities Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), which includes work-based learning experiences, training and counseling.
While in the program, Caleb explored a variety of careers and gained confidence while developing new skills. Before receiving his certificate of competition, Caleb worked more than 50 hours at Seagull Book, a local book store in Ogden, UT.
“Caleb grew a lot during his time at the Book Store,” said Jessica Bybee, Store Manager. “He worked really hard as a Customer Service Agent, helping customers find items, completing sales and engaging with fellow teammates.”
Caleb graduated from Ben Lomond High School. Next, he plans to continue to build a career at Seagull Book while taking classes at Weber State University. Ultimately, Caleb hopes to become an author.

"As a parent of an Autistic teen, I couldn't be more impressed with the skills my son acquired and the progress he made while participating in this program. Caleb gained confidence I didn't know he had and realized it was okay to try new things. Thank you for your persistence and optimism. It set my son on a wonderful path this Summer. He has not only a job but a feeling of purpose."
