ServiceSource Receives HIRE Vets Medallions

U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia recognized ServiceSource Virginia, Delaware and North Carolina as 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Awardees. After applying earlier this year, ServiceSource Virginia earned the Gold Award for Large employers. ServiceSource Delaware and North Carolina earned the Platinum Award for Medium employers. Both ServiceSource Delaware and Virginia are repeat recipients of the HIRE Vets Medallions while ServiceSource North Carolina is a first-time awardee.

The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes job creators who successfully recruit, hire and retain veterans. Currently, ServiceSource employs more than 190 veterans across regional offices. ServiceSource also facilitates community-based employment for veterans with disabilities through the Warrior Bridge program. In fiscal year 2020, the Warrior Bridge program served more than 1,000 veterans and placed 185 at jobs in the local community.

“As a veteran, I recognize the value veterans add to the workplace, especially at ServiceSource. Our organization is dedicated to continuing to provide career opportunities to veterans to create a greater and more inclusive workplace and community,” said Mae Aycock, Senior Vice President and retiree from the U.S. Army’s Military Intelligence division.

On November 10, ServiceSource joined 675 other award recipients from 49 states, including the District of Columbia, who show a commitment to hiring veterans and ensuring they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills acquired through their military service. The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is based on a number of criteria, ranging from veteran hiring and retention to providing veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, dedicated human resources, and compensation and tuition assistance programs.
