Abilities of Florida Donates Mortgage-Free Home to Local Resident with Disabilities

Abilities of Florida, a ServiceSource affiliate, proudly transferred ownership of a completely refurbished condominium at Crestview Villas in the city of Cocoa to Lisa Alberg, a local resident living with low vision and mobility impairments. This donation marks the organization’s ninth gift of a refurbished condominium to a person with disabilities.

“When I learned about this program, it sounded too good to be true,” says Lisa. “I’m so grateful to be moving into my very own home!”

The event at Crestview Villas drew local leaders and included remarks from Mayor Blake, Patrick Gavin from the office of Congressman Bill Posey, Indian River County Tax Collector Carole Jean Jordan, and ServiceSource President and CEO Bruce Patterson, as well as a ribbon-cutting and remarks from Lisa.

“We are proud to donate this condo to help strengthen our community through inclusivity,” Matt Motko, Abilities of Florida Executive Director said. “Our mission is to create inclusive communities where people with disabilities are welcomed and valued, which is what we’re doing right here at Crestview Villas.”
