Internships at Walgreens

Darius Brown and Nick Darga, both students in the Christiana School District NETWORKS Program, and Anthony Calandra, a student in the Meadowood Transition Program in the Red Clay School District, successfully completed the four-week REDI program training at the Walgreens located in Newark’s University Plaza.

Chelsie Colson, Makayla Yelerton and Bi’Jere Troy, all students enrolled in the Dover Capitol School District, also completed the same program at the Walgreens Forest Avenue location in Dover. ServiceSource Employment Consultant Debonee Rowe was a worksite mentor with the students.

About the REDI Program

ServiceSource Delaware was selected in 2013 by Walgreens, America’s largest drugstore chain, as an approved partner in its Retail Employees with Disabilities Initiative Program (REDI).

Defined as in-store extern training, the program’s goal is to prepare qualified candidates with disabilities for employment at Walgreens retail locations as well as employment with other retailers that require similar skills. In addition to the paid work experience, all students received work readiness and soft skills training and rotated through a full array of customer service and retail assignments.
