This award recognizes an outstanding partner in our community – whether it is an individual or company – that supports our mission in service to people with disabilities. This year ServiceSource North Carolina recognized Danell Leigh-Triola. Danell is the Site Manager for Carolina Outreach, which serves as a key community partner in providing mental health and substance abuse services in our Individual Placement and Support program.  Danell’s mental health treatment team partners with our Employment Specialists to support people with severe mental illness in the Individual Placement Support model. Together this partnership combines mental health treatment and supported employment to foster recovery and develop a path to self-sufficiency through employment.

Dwayne Beason is ServiceSource’s Warrior Bridge Coordinator.  Dwayne has a long legacy of service to our country, community and veterans. In his two and a half years with ServiceSource, Dwayne has assisted over 700 Veterans, service members, and their families through direct one-on-one contact or by referrals. In addition, he has assisted over 100 veterans in obtaining jobs. This past spring Dwayne established a community partnership to help individuals living in recovery at Myrover Reese find employment. Dwayne coordinated reliable van transportation for individuals through ServiceSource and matched clients with high demand jobs at Ft. Bragg Ground Services.

Private Sector Employee of the Year

ServiceSource North Carolina’s 2017 Private Sector Employee of the Year is Norman Stewart. This award is given to an individual who received support in securing employment with a local community employer and is now excelling on the job. Norman was connected to Carolina Outreach, our mental health partner. Carolina Outreach referred Norman to ServiceSource’s Individual Placement Support (IPS) team on July 2015 with the goal of obtaining competitive employment. With the help of our partners Carolina Outreach and the North Carolina Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, ServiceSource assisted Norman in securing and maintaining employment at Church’s Kitchen working as a part time cook. He has since secured a second job at another restaurant, Rustic Barrel, where he is working as a full-time cook and receiving benefits.

AbilityOne Employee of the Yeargroup smiling at camera holding award and red bag

The AbilityOne Employee of the Year is presented to an individual who has overcome significant obstacles and has achieved success working on one of our AbilityOne contracts. This year ServiceSource North Carolina recognized Matthew McLean as our 2017 AbilityOne Employee of the Year. Matthew has worked at our Fort Bragg Official Mail Distribution Center since May 2016. Matthew has become an expert at processing mail and is very comfortable assisting his coworkers and the military customers who know him by name. His co-workers and customers look to him for guidance when it comes to processing mail within the Mail Distribution Center.  Matthew makes it his business when mail is not properly addressed to exhaust all means to find the rightful owner for a single piece of mail. He was selected twice over a 12 month period as the Employee of the Quarter for the Mail Distribution Center.
