ServiceSource receives 2019 HIRE Vets Medallion Awards

Hire Vets Medallion Program

ServiceSource Receives HIRE Vets Medallions

ServiceSource is committed to employing our nation’s veterans. The U.S. Department of Labor recently recognized ServiceSource Delaware and ServiceSource Virginia with HIRE Vets awards.

ServiceSource Delaware received a HIRE Vets Platinum Medallion Award for Medium Employers and ServiceSource Virginia received a HIRE Vets Gold Medallion Award for Large Employers. These awards recognize our commitment to hire veterans; support professional development of veterans; and improve veteran retention.

Through our efforts in FY 2018, 133 veterans were employed across both Delaware and Virginia. Twelve percent of the employee population in Delaware consisted of veterans and seven percent of the employee population in Virginia consisted of veterans. We actively recruit veterans to participate in our corporate-wide Mentoring Program, as both mentors and mentees. Through mentoring, employees can enhance skills and expand professional networks. Company-paid educational opportunities are available including, tuition assistance, certification programs, accelerated coursework and advanced degrees. We facilitate trainings focused on veterans, including topics such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Best Practices to include veterans in the Workplace and Understanding Military Culture. ServiceSource also partners with an outside organization, to operate an apprenticeship program for Wounded Warriors. This program helps them gain valuable skills in mechanical, electrical and plumbing work; obtain industry-certifications; and become eligible for hire at the successful competition of the apprenticeship.

ServiceSource also established our Warrior Bridge program in 2009. Through Warrior Bridge, veterans have a vital connection to resources and support as they seek self-sufficiency and improved quality of life. The program assists with resource navigation, employment readiness, job development, job placement, job coaching and peer support. Additionally, Warrior Bridge provides a barrier removal fund which helps with financial aid, housing and mental and physical health referrals.
