In January 2025, ServiceSource President and CEO, Bruce Patterson, announced his retirement effective February 1, 2026, after a remarkable 42 years of service to ServiceSource. The Board of Directors of ServiceSource announced last week that Ken Crum has been selected to succeed Bruce upon his retirement in February. ServiceSource operates in fifteen states and includes seven affiliated nonprofit organizations in Delaware, Florida, North Carolina, Utah, and Charlottesville and Fairfax, Virginia.
Ken Crum has been part of the ServiceSource family since 2000, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer for the organization. Before taking on that role, he served in various positions, including Executive Director of ServiceSource Virginia, and in roles leading the organization’s rehabilitation programs and employment programs, and managing large, complex AbilityOne® Program contracts with military and federal customers.
“With his 25 years of experience with ServiceSource, a record of exceptional accomplishments, and commitment to ethical and empathetic leadership, I have the utmost confidence that Ken will lead the organization to new heights,” said Patterson.
In addition to his roles at ServiceSource, in 2023 Crum was elected President of the Virginia Association of Community Rehabilitation Programs (vaACCSES), after serving on the organization’s Board of Directors since 2013. vaACCSES is a statewide association of more than 50 nonprofit organizations providing quality employment, residential, training, and support services for individuals with disabilities. Ken was also elected in 2023 to serve on the Board of Directors of ACCSES at the national level.
“We are extremely thankful that Bruce Patterson has provided the Board with a year-long succession planning and transition opportunity and for the incredible accomplishments achieved under his leadership. ServiceSource is serving and employing more individuals with disabilities today, in more communities across the country, than at any time in its 50-plus year existence. As the Board considered the unique and complex requirements of the President and CEO position in a dynamic and large organization like ServiceSource, we were impressed by Ken’s experience and achievements, his detailed understanding of the field, and his deeply felt and demonstrated commitment to the mission,” said Board Chair Gary Petersen. “We all agree Ken is uniquely qualified to move into the role and provide steady and passionate leadership into the future.”
Ken and Bruce have already begun working together to ensure a smooth transition of leadership in February 2026.
