ServiceSource Awarded Ellmore Farmhouse

This new location at Frying Pan Park in Herndon, VA will benefit people with disabilities and the local community

GREAT NEWS – On May 4, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved subleasing the Ellmore Farmhouse to ServiceSource through the county’s Resident Curator Program. Through this program, qualified tenants who agree to rehabilitate and maintain historic properties within the county are offered long-term leases.

ServiceSource is thrilled to begin renovations to the property in late 2021 or early 2022 to create its ninth Long-Term Community Integration Services (LTCIS) program for people with disabilities in the Northern Virginia area. The renovation plans, which are fully approved, support restoring the historical nature of the farmhouse. These renovations will also rehabilitate the building by making ADA-compliant improvements and incorporating green building designs.

Upon completion of the renovations, up to 15 adults with disabilities will be offered employment through an onsite café and handcrafts specialty store. Participants will also support activities within Frying Pan Park, fostering an inclusive and welcoming community for all. “Throughout its history, the Ellmore Farmhouse has been a place where people gathered, resources were created and people celebrated,” said Ken Crum, Executive Vice President, Regional Operations. “ServiceSource’s use for Ellmore Farmhouse is to continue this legacy through the lens of inclusion.”

Making it Happen: Do More At Ellmore

ServiceSource is eager to create a community coalition for this project through the launch of Do More at Ellmore. Through this project, the ServiceSource Foundation is seeking donations to raise $660,000 to complete renovations and open the program to continue serving people with disabilities in the community.
