Work Adjustment Training

This program is designed to help a person learn and adjust to the daily demands of working. Each participant has the opportunity to learn these employment expectations in a real work setting. This program is particularly helpful for individuals who are recovering from an accident or illness and who wish to build up to working a full day.
Vocational Skills Training

A competency-based and highly individualized program that assists individuals in gaining the skills necessary for entry-level jobs in their chosen area of work. Participants learn skills in a real work setting and participate in job readiness classes where they learn job searching skills. We offer job training in the following specific areas:

Materials Handling (including forklift certification) – Skills taught include loading and unloading materials, safe storage of material, use of hand tools, checking and counting incoming freight, understanding methods of wrapping materials, palletizing and securing material.  Individuals are also taught how to operate trash compactor, electric pallet jack and forklift operations, if qualified.  The ServiceSource Delaware Regional Office has a long-standing partnership with the National Safety Council/FLI Learning Systems, Inc to perform the training course, “Coaching the Lift Truck Operator”.

Custodial – Skills taught include sweeping, wet and dry mopping, dusting, trash collection/removal, proper technique for vacuuming and cleaning offices, operating a trash compactor, and operating and maintaining industry-related heavy equipment (i.e. buffer, techniques for maintaining custodial equipment and maintaining the outside of buildings).

Hospitality Training Services

Through a unique partnership with Embassy Suites in Newark, a member of the Hilton Family of Hotels, we offer a six-week training course that combines on-the-job skills with interactive classroom instruction. The training takes place at Embassy Suites, and is taught by Embassy Suites Managers. Our staff recruits and provides support throughout training to help participants overcome barriers and successfully complete the program. In addition to hotels, the valuable skills participants learn transfer to jobs in hospitals, schools and many other organizations. For more information, contact Program Manager Stephanie Ziegenhorn at 302-765-1235.
