ServiceSource Hosts Home Depot Hiring Event in Florida

The ServiceSource Florida Regional Office and the Abilities Foundation hosted a day-long hiring event on January 24th. A total of 24 local Home Depot store and district managers prescreened applicants online and conducted face-to-face interviews for a variety of entry-level positions, including cashiers, lot workers, floor sales and material handlers. "It was very kind of the Abilities Foundation to accommodate us," said store manager and diversity and inclusion captain Frank Essex. "A spacious mid-town location with ample parking was exactly what we needed."

ServiceSource staff addressed the Home Depot management team, describing the services provided by Warrior Bridge and future development plans. This is the latest collaborative activity as a result of our growing relationship with Home Depot. Home Depot is an active supporter of Warrior Bridge employment services, hiring veterans served and participating in Warrior Bridge job fairs. Home Depot participated in last year's Warrior Bridge Job Fair at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, which 400 veterans attended. Home Depot will once again participate in this year's job fair at Bay Pines on February 24th. Clarissa Surls, Home Depot associate, supports Warrior Bridge year-round, with a seat on the ServiceSource Business Advisory Council in Clearwater, FL.

Home Depot also teams with the Abilities Foundation on a $25,000 grant to rehabilitate the homes of eight (8) injured Tampa Bay veterans for safety, energy efficiency and accessibility. The next renovation will be for the home of Martin Donaldson, an injured Vietnam-era veteran, on February 16th.
