ServiceSource North Carolina Shift Leader Earns ServSafe Certificate

Exceeding our customers' expectations is a commitment ServiceSource strives for everyday, as made apparent by the recent efforts of Sharon Bowens, a shift leader working on ServiceSource's AbilityOne food service contract at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Ms. Bowens recently received her ServSafe Certification, making her the first shift leader to earn the valuable certification.

ServSafe training is recognized as the premiere Food Safety Training Program for the hospitality industry by the National Restaurant Association, and the ServSafe Manager Certification is nationally recognized and accredited.

The ServiceSource North Carolina Regional Office began the Fort Bragg Food Service contract in October 2009 and currently has nearly 200 individuals employed on the contract at 12 dining facilities. Ninety four percent of the hours worked on the contract are by individuals with disabilities. As a shift leader, Ms. Bowen, who has worked in the food service industry since 1989, supervises ten dining facility attendants.

"Although many of our managers are ServSafe certified, Ms. Bowen's is our first shift leader to be certified. This kind of motivation positively impacts both the individuals she leads as well as the customers we serve."

 - Wandoll R. Tindoll, Ft. Bragg Food Service Project Manager
